13 year old Rocco Jack from Annapolis was fishing along side his 
“Poppy” from Carroll County. They had been fishing in Hillsboro, MD (on the Shore) and then decided to travel to Martinak State Park in Denton, MD to give the Yellow Perch a try there.

When they went to Martinak State Park, they met with our own Hunting and Fishing Maryland.com pro-staff, Wayne Williams who was also putting some perch together for his 
evening fish fry. Wayne was having a blast fishing along side Rocco and “Poppy”. It was a great day to be in the Great Outdoors.

“Pop” is taking me fishing along with my son in a couple weeks in Cape Coral “Poppy”, and your story just got me a little more pumped!!
Poppy and Rocco, thanks for the fun filled day of fishing. Sitting on the dock watching two fishing buddys bending rods and making memories brought back
charished memories of fishing adventures my grandfather and I went on. Rocco
take poppy fishing as much as you can those are priceless memories. It was very

It was awesome to be down there taking pictures of who were at first complete strangers, but now fishing friends. I really enjoyed it.

Great article 4 sure. Poppy really does know what he is doing. Rocco too. I should know, he taught me some things about fishing when he was 10 or 11.
“Teach a Man to Fish” and wonderful things happen, I think they figured it out a long time ago, way to stay with the plan.
I remember when “Poppy”, (my father) took all us kids fishing. It really seems like yesterday!! We had great times which resulted me doing the same with my kids!!! Love ya Dad !!
