Awesome weekend on the rip… Left OC inlet Friday evening to set up on an “overnighter” fishing adventure in the Baltimore canyon. Upon arrival we were greeted by the armada of boats, about 100 trolling around looking for the elusive bigeye tuna… None were found as far as I heard but we pressed on until about 1030pm and then set up for the all night chunk. We had our big boy lines set and the 50 started screaming about 0100hrs waking those that drifted off to sleep under the stars…after about 1/2 hour, the beast was boat side trying to tear the side from the team’s 35 Marlago. I Guess 7 foot Hammer head sharks don’t like Pretty blue paint. No time for photos, we got the hint, this shark wanted no part of a photo op, so we cut the line and off he went, with respect in-tacked. As sun rise broke darkness we set out for the troll and we picked away at 6 mahi to warm the cooler. With a great day had, we decided to head to the barn. What will next weekend bring, put this one in the books!

Congratulations to all on this charter. Josh my son mated on an overnight trip that produced this bad ass catch.—Brian Lowery
