Well the Maryland 2015 Youth Day has come to a close and once again there was some awesome success and some went home with some deer tag soup.
One group I’m honored to throw a shout out to is the young gentlemen from Pennsylvania. These boys Hunted hard for two days straight only leaving their stands for short moments of necessity.
They all had opportunity but they all collectively held off for bigger deer. They set goals for themselves, gambled and ended the weekend with out pulling the triggers. They are driving home to PA wondering if they made the right calls. Well hind site is 100%. I think they Hunted and all three had 100% successful hunts! Good Job to Cody Racine, Devin Forbes, and Hayden Kitzmiller, you boys hunted your butts off, and have earned the badges of HUNTERS! Congratulations on your successful Hunts!
I would also like to congratulate Bill “Googa” Rosenberg of Rosebud Farms Hunting. Out of his 7 youth groups, all could of pulled the trigger, some did and some did not, But Googa put all his clients in position to make the calls on the shots.
Owen Schmidt also set goals, and guess what? He just killed the biggest deer of his life today. He passed on numerous deer over the last 2 days and tonight he is celebrating his success.
Owen has previously taken deer, so he set out for a nice deer this year and stuck to his plan, and in the final hrs of his last day…boom, success. Owen was hunting in the Zolman camp led by, Hunting and Fishing America prostaffer Keith Zolman.
included with the Zolman camp was:
Connor Zolman & Capt. Keith Zolman
Brenden Gum was also successful in the Zolman Camp
Father, Don Gum & Brenden Gum
Don’t get hung up trophies though, I’ve seen hunters tear up over Button Bucks, so everyone has their own expectations/goals and dreams. If it’s the right time and moment, pull that trigger!
Another success story is this young man. He put in a hard two days and took this fine looking buck, also taken at Rosebud Farms tonight
Great job to everyone that was fortunate enough to enjoy life in the field with family and friends. There my friend is the success. Taking a deer is just incidental!
