July 16, 2014 at 3:35 pm #6719On June 09th most of you probably knew that Coconut Charlie’s lost one of our security guys George Sank. He was working his other job on that Monday where he had a massive heart attack. George had just turned 40 this year and was an only child to his mother Ms.Pam. Also this year Ms. Pam lost her husband, George’s stepfather to a massive heart attack. Ms. Pam has her own health problems right now and goes to dialysis three days a week, six to eight hours a day.
We are having a fishing tournament in his honor and giving back everything we raise to help his mother get back on her feet and get her moved in to another location. George was apart of our family at Charlie’s and we are reaching out to you guys to help us take care of one of our own. Fishing Tournament is going to be held on Sunday July 20th from 8am-4pm. We are going to be fishing from the bay bridge to key bridge. Captains meeting is being held at the bar Friday the 18th from 730-830. Tournament is a $175.00 donation per boat. Number of anglers does not matter. Tournament party is being held at Atlantic Marina located at 2010 Knollview Ave. For all anglers in the tournament we will be providing pit beef, turkey, ham sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers. Sodas and waters included. Coors light, Miller light and Bud light cans will be available for $2.00 and the profit from the beer sales will also be donated back. Atlantic Marina’s grounds and pool area will be available to all families involved with the fishing tournament from 11am- end of party which should be around 7-8pm. Furthermore for people not in tournament you may purchase sodas and bottled water for $1.00, canned beer $2.00, hot dogs $1.00, hamburgers $3.00, pit ham $3.00, pit turkey $4.00, pit beef $5.00. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be the first food that will be available starting at noon as well as drinks. Starting in 2015 the mid season tournament will always occur on this weekend and starting next year we will pay out all money to first thru third places like we would usually do. I can say we at Charlie’s have done more than most people in the community and this time we are looking for people to help us give George’s mom a small cushion in her life for a couple years so she can not worry about her health and her losses she incurred over this year. Please try and get as many friends you have to join us on Sunday July 20th and celebrate George’s life and raise as much as we can for Ms. Pam!! Any questions please contact me at the bar 410-255-9899 or via email. For people who may not be able to make it to the captains meeting, you can register during the whole week leading up to the tournament and not be there Friday. The only 2 rules we will have is to have fun, and fish between the 2 bridges!!! Bud Hein will be there with us to measure and weigh all fish caught that day and please see Bud for any live bait or tackle needs you may need. We appreciate every one’s help in getting to our goal of 25-30 boats!!!!! Please share this and pass it on to as many people possible. Thanks again to EVERYONE!!!!—Capt. Tommy Perry & wife Marie Perry
