Double Triple
The 2010 Deer Season is quickly coming to a close and some hunters and Hunting Camps suffered a little while others had seasons of a lifetime.
Some of the 2010 notable successes were hunters “Cool Hand Luke”, Bunky McAllister whom took 3 nice bucks in his Western Shore “Honey hole”.
We had the Eastern Shore represented well with Shelly Macmillan connecting numerous times this years with one of her deer being her first buck and another was the successful bagging of the elusive piebald, a trophy that many hunter will never be afforded the opportunity to take or see for that matter.
…………………………………………………………………………………………
Charlie Schline finally got the Sika monkey off his back with an absolute pig of a Sika deer.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Patrick Smith connected on “Stumpy” which happened to be his first deer and a Trophy to boot.
……………………………………………………………………………………………….
“Success-Girl Style” of 2010 was quite a feat when Savannah Vickery, Madison Weaver, Megan Weaver and Brittney Magee all headed out into the field on Youth Day together with friends, fathers, and grandfathers and all four ladies took beautiful trophies on a day to be remembered. And then one of the fathers, Pete Weaver followed the lead of his daughters, taking a bruiser 11pointer of his own.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………….
We had“AntlersUnited” when the Gasker Brothers, Harry and Max got to spend a wonderful day in the field together and were blessed with two nice bucks of their own to talk about for a lifetime.
Each account, was truly remarkable feat on its own, and I was honored to have been, in some way included in these success stories, and I thank those that shared their lives with us.
Just when I thought the deer season was “Closed” for the winter; Brian Weatherford unloaded his 2010 season on me.
Holy Cow, where do I start, with this one? Well I’ll try my best to give this extraordinary season its due justice, what a year!
The Double Triple
The first triple was cracked during the early muzzleloader 2010 season when seasoned veterans Rick Watts, Brian Weatherford, and Bill Carrier stepped onto the field. The venue was Rock Hall, located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The pitch was delivered and the Rock Hall men ripped a triple off the left field wall. Now this was a triple to be remembered. Rick, Brian and Bill slid safely into third, proudly displaying their bone-pile. What a shot!
Well, with the game now all tied up and on the line, their boys, Kyle Weatherford, Will Carrier and Dylan Watts jumped in the box, dug in, gave a determined look down to third base where their fathers proudly stood in wait, chanting to their boys, giving them encouragement and strength. The season called in relief pitcher “Youth Day”, a strapping young rookie up from the minors. “Youth day” brought the heat, and hurled in a 100 MPH fastball but with one strong collective swing of the bat, Will, Dylan and Kyle scorch this heater right off the center field fence giving them the game winning triple. All three boys together hoisted third base over their heads and jogged towards their fathers for the celebration, who were proudly standing on home plate clapping for the true champions of the game. What a clutch effort by these boys. Rock Hall brings home gold this 2010 season for these guys, great game, one that these boys will be celebrating for sometime.
Side Note these boys did a pretty good job on the birds too!
Great Job to the Rock Hall Gang, what a year!!
