Montgomery County
The WayneMikeMomo Show
100 Degrees in the snow?
Yep you guessed it Buck Fever. This overwhelming fever has caused much pain and suffering over the years for a many of great hunters and huntresses and there is only one cure for this infliction…another hunt!
I think when the time comes, when the fever is tempered, when a nice buck doesn’t put you in a palpitating anxiety, then it might be time to take up knitting sweaters.
I know the video is less than perfect, but that’s what makes it so perfect, it captured the essence of why we all flood out into the woods, the pursuit of the one. The one might be that trophy Boone and Crockett and it may just be that savvy doe, doing the head bob and weave to try to get you to move that puts your heart in a confusing shake down of emotion. What ever it is?… please… don’t let me get ice-water in my veins, give me the fever, it’s what reminds us we are alive.
What’s really cool is when we get to share that fever with someone else. Both Mike and Wayne got to share the fever together, look at the shot and look at the camera work, I’d say a little shaky. These are grown men doing the Chinese fire drill hanging off a tree in the freezing cold. One that has no idea of what hunting is all about might ask themselves, look at these guys acting like excitable teenagers, What are they doing? Well, we all know…They’re living good and having fun.
Give me the Fever baby!
Thanks for sharing your experience guys, and reminding us, we’re alive.
